Why is my Linkvertise RPM higher than LootLabs CPM but LootLabs pays more?
When calculating CPM (Cost per mile) we use the number of sessions your account go in order to calculate how much money you make per 1000 session,
we have an in-depth explanation over here.
Linkvertise use "RPM", Although they call this parameter RPM (Revenue per mile) which should be the same as CPM, but they are using another data point called CPC (Cost per click) and multiplying it by 1000, which created a measure that should be called CPCM (Cost per click by mile) if you want to be technical.
Using this system in this example you can get an "RPM" of 2.46$ on a CPM of 1.76$ this is only visual but provide a 29% "increase" in data without changing any actual measurements or money gained.
Trying to make more sense of this here is an explanation:
In LootLabs measuring system (which is the market default) we would calculate CPM at cost which is 0.69$ divided by 391 impression times 1000
which would give you a CPM of 1.76$ which is the industry standard of calculating CPM
In the same example using "Linkvertise RPM" You would divide the cost by click instead of impressions meaning 0.69$ divided by 276 click instead of 391 impression times 1000
which would give you a cost per click * 1000 or the "Linkvertise RPM" of 2.46$ RPM
As you can see the same data provides a only visual 29% "increase" in data without changing any actual measurements.
We choose to stay at our current analytics calculation using the industry standard of cost per sessions or impressions times 1000,
